RecoveringSucker.com is designed with three primary goals in mind.

1. Track my progress toward becoming a better husband, a better father, and a better steward of the resources I have been entrusted with.
2. Provide lessons learned along the way which may help others avoid making the same mistakes that I have made or will make in the future.
3. Learn from others who would like to share their experiences.

As I travel through this life, I can look back (sometimes as recently as this morning) and see where I have been a sucker to this world, and the misplaced priorities that it seems to promote.  This seems most apparent to me as it relates to the importance of family (in my case as a husband and father) and also in how to manage finances and other available resources (i.e. time and talents).

My perspective on these has change significantly over the years, and I imagine that they will continue to evolve . . . my hope being for the better.  I would like to use this site to share my past experiences as well as the ones to come.

About Me

I am a Christian, a husband and a father. . . in that order. My wife and I are in our 30’s, and we have an two wonderful girls as of this writing. That is, we only have two children as of this writing… not they are wonderful as of this writing.  I completely expect that they will continue to be wonderful.

My wife and I both have jobs, we have a house, one too many cars, a home-based business, investments, savings, retirement plans as well as plans for retirement.  I’m not an expert in personal finance, faith, raising kids, being a great husband, or admitting I’m wrong, but I am working on all of them.
